The macro map

A world map colored country by country: interest rates, inflation, GDP, unemployment, public debt — the macro backdrop next to your chart.

Written by the Axel Tracker team · Updated September 14, 2026

Backtesting → Macro map shows the world colored country by country according to a macro indicator — the fundamental backdrop behind the pairs you trade, one tab away from the live chart.

The five indicators

  • Interest rate (the default) — the central-bank policy rate, the number that moves currencies most.
  • Inflation — year-over-year CPI.
  • GDP — economic output.
  • Unemployment — labor-market health.
  • Public debt / GDP — fiscal pressure.

Switch indicators from the selector on the map; hover a country for its exact figure. The map is provided by TradingView and follows your theme.

How to use it as a trader

Rate differentials drive currency trends: before holding a pair for days, a ten-second glance at the interest-rate map tells you which side the carry favors. The inflation view, read together with the economic calendar, tells you which CPI releases actually matter this week.

One quirk to know

The map loads in the language your app was using when it was first opened. If you switch the app’s language afterwards, a banner on the tab offers to reload the map in the new language — one click.
