Strategies — measure which setups actually pay

Create strategies from tagged notes, assign trades to them, and read performance per strategy.

Written by the Axel Tracker team · Updated August 14, 2026

A strategy in Axel starts as a note. That’s deliberate: your playbook should live where you write, and the stats should follow it.

1. Create a strategy

  1. Go to NotesNew note.
  2. Write your setup — entry conditions, invalidation, management rules.
  3. Tag the note ▪ Strategy.

Every note tagged Strategy automatically becomes an option in the trade form’s Strategy dropdown.

2. Assign trades to it

When adding or editing a trade, pick the strategy in the dropdown. Auto-synced and CSV trades can be assigned the same way — open the trade, choose the strategy, save.

3. Read the results

  • Advanced Stats → Stats → Performance by strategy — a histogram of P&L per strategy: which setups pay, which bleed.
  • The same chart is available as a dashboard widget.
Be strict about assignment. A strategy’s stats are only as honest as your tagging — an unassigned winner flatters nothing, a misassigned loser blames the wrong setup.
